By the end of 2009 a restoration plan to meet the Department of Ecology's Total Maximum Daily Load will be submitted to DOE for approval.

Sponsored a Technical Review Taskforce to develop recommendations to Council for specific actions to better protect our drinking water.

Adopted the revised Silver Beach Ordinance and Stormwater Amendment imposing restrictions on new development and redevelopment.

Imposed a year long moratorium on building and land clearing in the Lake Whatcom Watershed until more effective building and stormwater regulations could be adopted.

Secured State Legislative action to obtain Lake Whatcom restoration funding.

Obtained funding for a joint City/County Silver Beach Creek Restoration Pilot Project.
